Who We Are

West Side Bahá’í School is dedicated to the spiritual education of children using the Bahá’í teachings as its basic foundation. In a nurturing environment, children of diverse backgrounds can come together in fellowship to gain an understanding of their spiritual identity and to learn how to apply spiritual principles in their daily lives. Classes are open to all children, ages 3 years to 5th grade.

Our Goals

  1. Teach children the Oneness of God, the Oneness of religion, and the Oneness of humankind.
  2. Instruct children in the sacred writings and principles of the Bahá’í Faith, as well as its history, philosophy and central figures.
  3. Nurture children’s spiritual susceptibilities, moral development, and spirit of service to humanity;
  4. Foster the independent investigation of truth.
  5. Train children in the art of loving consultation as a means of decision-making and conflict resolution.

Our Curriculum

“Every child must be trained in the things of the spirit, so that he may embody all the virtues and become a source of glory to the Cause of God.” ~Abdu’l-Bahá

Our program is based on the Core Curriculum for Spiritual Education, written by the National Education Task Force for the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahà’ís of the United States. The Core Curriculum lessons are supplemented by other material such as virtues guides and the Ruhi program for children’s classes. For more information on the Core Curriculum and the Ruhi children’s classes please visit  www.education.usbnc.org.
