March Events 2017

On March 19, you are invited to celebrations of the New Year/Naw-Rúz!  March 1-19 is the annual period of fasting from sunrise to sunset for Bahá’ís 15-70 years of age who are healthy, not pregnant or nursing, or otherwise exempt.  It is a time of increased focus on rejuvenating and developing our spiritual life.  March 20 is the first day of spring and start of the new Bahá’í calendar year 174.  Please join us for joyful and meaningful good times together!

Portland Baha'i Center

Portland Baha’i Center

Portland:  7:00 pm.  Bahá’í Center, 8720 N Ivanhoe St, Portland, OR 97203.  The evening includes devotions and dinner for everyone; there will be organized children’s activities as well.  To add to the festivities we will have music provided by two members of the Portland-based group, Inka Jam:  Luciana Proano, dancer and percussionist from Peru and JB Butler, jazz, blues, electronic, and Latin guitarist.  Inka Jam’s music includes originals from the band members and traditional covers in a variety of styles with an Andean flare.  They play Huaynos, Cumbia, Salsa, Boleros, Trova and Afro-Peruvian.  Most of the songs have lyrics and they encourage audience participation.  For more information, please call 503 289-6331.
