Bahá’ís all over the Portland area are celebrating Ayyám-i-Há from February 26 to March 1.
Ayyám-i-Há, or “Days of Ha” are days of celebration, hospitality, charity and fellowship.
This festive time comes toward the end of the Bahá’í year, which is divided into 19 months of 19 days each. These “intercalary” days, between the 18th and 19th months of the Bahá’í calendar, are necessary to align the calendar with the 365-day Gregorian solar calendar. These are also days of preparation for the time of daytime fasting March 2-20.
Find a celebration near you and come and join in!
