Ladder for the Soul Fundraiser on Track!
The Ladder for the Soul Celebration and Fundraiser is gathering steam and is on track to be a terrific evening! Wonderful entertainment, mouth-watering desserts and a silent auction will fill the Portland Baha’i Center on Saturday, February 27th, starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are on sale now for $15.T
icket requests can be sent to Victoria Morgan (see contact information below). Make checks payable to the Portland Baha’i Fund, and earmark your donation to the Ladder for the Soul (LFTS) choir on the memo line. Tickets are going quickly, so don’t delay!
The choir is raising funds to help with travel costs to Wilmette, IL for the 4th annual Choral Weekend. Some choir members will be able to travel without financial assistance, while others will need help in meeting their transportation and lodging costs. Our goal is to allow all choir members the opportunity to attend the choral festival, so we can continue to grow as a unified team that teaches people about the Baha’i Faith through performance.
One of the weekend highlights is a choral showcase, where choirs perform for each other, share music and information. Ladder for the Soul is blessed to have had two composers write pieces specifically for the choir. To date, four pieces have been added to the repertoire. This music has never been heard outside of northern Oregon/southwestern Washington, and will be performed in Illinois for more than 100 Baha’i singers from communities across the country and beyond!
Ladder for the Soul will perform all of the specially-composed pieces on the night of the Fundraiser, before offering them to the global Baha’i community.
The choir is excited about the silent auction that will be held during the Fundraiser. For instance, three handmade quilts will be displayed and the winning bidder will be able to select their favorite one. A 90-minute massage has been donated, as has a homemade spaghetti dinner for four.
