Interfaith Council of Greater Portland

We live in a diverse world with different cultures, languages, traditions, and faiths. This diversity is represented in the Pacific Northwest and in Portland where many different faiths coexist. To promote peace and harmony, we must have a better understanding of each other. Often we have questions about other religions and wish we could find answers. There is a need for an exchange where no one feels threatened and where a true understanding is possible.

So the Interfaith Council of Greater Portland (ICGP) created the annual Festival of Faith to provide a friendly, casual, civil atmosphere where people can explore the area’s different religions, get their questions answered and meet people from all different backgrounds.

This year's theme is:

Stewardship of the Earth: Interfaith Community in Action

Bring your family, friends and neighbors to:

  • Sample ethnic and traditional foods.

  • Join environmental discussion groups.

  • Browse more than 20 display tables from various faith groups.

  • Enjoy sacred music and dance.

  • Share your concerns and hopes for our planet.

You are also invited to:

  • Share art which expresses your concerns and hopes for our planet.

  • Ponder what you can do, with others, to make a difference – for this and future generations.
